The SAM Coupé was a little-known system built by Miles Gordon Technology in 1989. It was surprisingly powerful for an 8-bit machine, with up to 512K of RAM. However, it came out just as 16-bit systems were becoming more popular, and thus it never sold in quantity. Interestingly, the SAM Coupe can run Spectrum ZX software via a ROM swap.
