Bug Reports

This page is somewhere we can keep a log of issues and suggestions that's not on the front page. Any issue or issue discussion can go here :)

Bug Fixes (5/17)
The Main Page javascript is working again; I also took the time to re-order the listed sections so that it makes sense again. [Em]

Bug Report (5/14)
SiteBuilder appears to have changed -- it now includes an html editor by default, which crashes Moz. Somehow, it also appears to mess up javascript, as the front page became borked after I added a line using the text editing mode. [Em]

There appears to be a problem with the css on IE6 (Windows): see here. IE6 is defaulting to using the first font in your font list for some reason. Moz works fine, as do all other browsers I've tried. Also, the 404 error page appears to be missing. [Em]

http://emulation.net/roms/index.html is still in the old format. [Wraith]
Fixed [Em]

More Updates Completed (5/11)
The graphics have all been moved on-site; some would probably look better with new graphics however, and we need some emulator icons still for some of the pages. [Em]

Features to add? (5/10)
I was wondering if someone (Rip) could make an OS X, OS X (Panther+), and Classic icon, that could go beside the links to the various emulators. Then we could have checkboxes on the forms that indicate where the thing runs. We could also add Java, X-Windows and Console checkboxes :)

Java-based Emulators? (5/10)
What are your ideas on adding runnable Java-based emulators to the site? Ones that run under X-Windows?
Here's a list of some Java-based ones:

List of Java Emulators - Another list - x68000 - C64 - Microtan - MSX - ZX Spectrum - Arcade - Mastersystem - NES - Arcade - Mastersystem - WonderSwan - Atari ST - Gameboy/GBC - ZX Spectrum - ZX81 - Arcade (Phoenix) - Arcade (Pleiads) - ZX Spectrum - Microtan - Apple// - Colecovision [Em]

Stuff Redux (5/9)

  • Updated the emu.net feedback page to reflect more current info and remove most references to the PowerPC being a mean Pentium burning machine that eats 68k macs for lunch and you should upgrade because 68k macs are old and the powermac 6100 is 60mhz of raw computing power. Old site is still at http://emulation.net/feedback/oldindex.html if you want to compare to http://emulation.net/feedback/index.html . Any recommendations on more changes are welcome.
  • Also got after rip about a new logo for the main page and feedback page. Msg me about it em so we can see if we want to change it or not.

    Missing Page Link (5/7) :

  • In the Computer (T-Z) section there is a 'Thomson TO' Linked to TO8 page, but there is also a TO7 page existing [BRaiNLeSs]
  • The To7 information is being moved to the To8 page to make one page for Thomson computers [Em]

    Small problem (5/6):

  • As previously noted, the JavaScript on the front page disables the Back button in Safari. [johnl]
  • More stuff (5/6):

  • I just noticed that some pages, like the Atari Jaguar page, aren't linked from the homepage. [Em]
Jaguar added; it seems I'm getting the hang of this! Let me know if there are others missing [Em]
  • The AdvanceMESS links aren't showing up for some reason. [Em]

    Old to do:
We should remove references to the site as John's. No more "don't ask me" or "I won't..." when it should be us or we. I'm currently removing the Candy Crisis banners from all the templates. Add to the news if you find more crap that's broken. We're missing 3 years worth of archived news as well.

    Done today (5/5):
-Updated title bar for Panther on front page (thanks Rip)
-Removed komkon links and added most of the missing archives
-Updated jscript so newer Omniweb doesn't get a subpar experience
-Recovered archived news pages up to 2003 -- 2003 is now all that's missing.

Thanks to rip we have updated icons for everything. No more of that puke blue. I've committed all of wraith's massive quantity of updates (you da man!), but some stuff is listed as MIA for now which needs to be fixed. I need a list of all the pages that HAVEN'T been updated because they still have John's old webpage link and a Candy Crisis banner. That must be removed. I also updated the jscript so it has all the new pages that were added as well.

    To Do (5/4):
An incredible amount but excluding the actual php hacking here's what I've added:
-Update main page folder to reflect 10.3's image scheme.
-Rearrange SNES page and maybe some other pages so old discontinued emus aren't at top?
    - Better notation of which emus are classic MacOS and which are OS X (and move the OS X ones to the top!)
-Find the remaining old subpages to remove the banner and homepage links
-Em, finish the vectrex section! Done -- Em.
-Move images to local folders instead of the google caches on some of the pages
-Rewrite the feedback page and any other that is disgustingly out of date
-Check for any more komkon refs?
--This is all php related crap
    ---Renaming Pages
    ---Deleting Pages
    ---Updating the javascript links
    ---Sanity checks
    ---Picture upload functionality
    ---undo revert
