ACT Apricot F1e Personal Computer

The Apricot computerline was created and sold by Apricot Computers PLC, formerly known as Applied Computer Techniques. ACT was a British company, founded in 1965 as a mainframe time-leasing company. They changed their name to Apricot Computers in 1985, reflecting their change in focus to selling a line of personal computers. Apricot Computers was closed in 1999 by then-parent company Mitsubishi Electric.

The Apricot F1e was released in 1983 as ACT's "lower than low-cost" personal computer aimed at the educational market. Based on the Cactus design, the F1e was a stripped-down version of the low cost F1, which had been created as the entry level computer for ACT's new personal computer product line.
