Stella, an Atari 2600 emulator, has been updated to version 1.1! This version offers significant enhancements over its predecessor, including increased compatibility, support for Navigation Services, and a multitude of bug fixes.

SNES9X has been updated to version 1.2.6! This version offers improved sound, and fixes a memory leak issue that caused SNES9X to spontaneously quit itself if the game was defrosted over and over again.

MacBochs has been updated to version 990925. This version emulates an 80486 processor (previous versions only supported 80386 opcodes), handles more video modes properly, and fixes several emulation bugs.

A new, freeware PC emulator called PCx has been released! Unfortunately, it lacks sound support, has only standard VGA video, and according to the authors, no updates to PCx will be released. (Thanks to EmuMac for the scoop!)

WACKE, an Atari 800 emulator, has been updated to version 1.6!

ThePI has been updated; this build can run several more demos, but no commercial titles yet.

jzIntv has been updated to Release 010a, which fixes some emulation bugs.

EmuMac, a Macintosh emulation site, has reopened its doors. This site focuses on staying current with Mac emulation news.





Virtual PC 3.0 has been released! Upgrades from previous versions cost only $44. Version 3.0 offers complete USB support, shared Internet connectivity between Mac OS and PC environments, AppleScript compatibility for Windows, faster network and disk access, SoundBlaster 16 compatibility, and improved configuration. Users have also reported increased support for non-Windows OSes.

MacMAME has been updated to version 0.36b5! As usual, this version supports many new titles.

SNES9X has been updated to version 1.2.3a! This version supports Kirby Super Star, and also has improved sound.

A new Apple IIgs emulator, iGS, has been released! This emulator is a new version of the freeware XGS project.

Bernie ][ the Rescue, an Apple IIgs emulator, has been updated to version 2.5.1! This update adds Bernie Total Integration, which lets the Mac and emulated Apple IIgs share clipboards, and drag files between the Mac OS and IIgs desktops. Sound emulation has also been improved.

A new Playstation emulator, ThePI, has been released! Although this emulator can only handle demos at this time, speeds are good and the graphic quality is excellent.

PSMac, an emulator for the Playstation, is now able to run several Playstation demos as well! It has earned a spot on the emulation.net Playstation page.

jzIntv, a new Intellivision emulator, has been ported to the Macintosh! Although graphics emulation is only partially complete, this is still a very noteworthy release.

Power64 has been updated to version 2.5.1!

MacTiger, a TI-92 emulator, has been updated to version 1.0a6!





Virtual Gameboy has been updated to version 1.6! This update fixes problems with Pokémon and many Color Gameboy issues, improves RAVE mode and is a bit faster as well.

MacMAME has been updated to version 0.36b4! Predictably, this version adds support for several more titles.

GeoMAME, a Neo-Geo emulator based around the MacMAME core, has also been updated to version 1.0b7.

Mac1964, a new Nintendo 64 emulator for the Macintosh, has just been released! At this time, it cannot play any commercial ROMs; however, it's still an interesting experiment.

MasterGear has been updated to version 1.3! This version adds InputSprocket support, RAVE mode, and increases compatibility and speed across the board.

A Macintosh port of MagicEngine has been announced! This emulator has long been regarded as the most complete PC Engine emulator available. Unfortunately, a specific release date was not given.




SNES9X has been updated to version 1.2.3! This version supports SuperFX games once again, and now works beautifully with StarFox!

MacMAME has been updated to version 0.36b3! As usual, many more games are supported, and the GUI has been enhanced as well.

GeoMAME has also been updated to version 1.0b7p. This version supports a few more games and incorporates changes from the latest MacMAME build.
