On August 1st, I will be getting married to a wonderful woman, Leanne Barber. From now until the middle of August, I will be away from my computer and unable to update the page or answer e-mail. (Important updates may be covered by Rura Penthe during this period.)

DGen has been updated to version 1.1.6! This is a fairly major update; the speed has dramatically increased, two player games work, and compatibility is significantly higher as well.

True Reality has been updated to version 1.1.3b3! This version works better with Mesa's 3Dfx drivers, and fixes a few graphical glitches as well.

GeoMAME has been updated to version 1.0b3! This version now supports more dumps, and includes more Glide and CPU options.

GBMac has been updated to version 1.2.1b1! This version now supports Gameboy Color software.

PSMac is now an open-source project. While this Playstation emulator is still unable to load any real Playstation games, its author hopes that open-source collaboration will speed PSMac's development.

TRS-80 has been updated to version 1.6.

The MacMAME Screenshot Gallery has been updated to be current with the most recent release of MacMAME.

FreeMSX has been updated to version 1.0b.





MacMAME has been updated to version 0.36b1! Please remember that this is beta quality software so some games may be broken in this release.

GeoMAME received a quick update to version 1.0b2. This fixes a few small bugs and adds support for the MVS redump of Andro Dunos.





Steve Jobs' Macworld New York Keynote Address was a huge hit with Apple devotees. Watch it with QuickTime 4.0 to see what Apple has planned!

GeoMAME 1.0b1 has been released by Andrew Blum, replacing NeoMAME PPC. GeoMAME features several enhancements like switchable overclocking and 16-bit bit depth for all games, as well as new features like save states for Neo Geo games and user-programmable combos.

MacMAME 0.36b1 will be out soon, but due to some changes in the keyboard handling code, it may take longer than usual to be released. Please do not pester the authors or MAMEDev, as this will only slow them down.

After months of inactivity, the Ubiquitous Amiga Emulator home page has been updated with a quick status report. Check it out and cross your fingers that UAE will resume regular updates!





MacBochs has been updated to version 990708. This release incorporates many improvements and emulation fixes.

Blue Label has received a large update to version 1.5. New to this version is floppy image support, support for more OSes, and other improvements as well.

NeoMAME PPC has been updated to .35Nb. This update adds support for the newer MVS redumps.




As of a few updates ago, Rura Penthe has joined emulation.net to help John keep this page updated in a more timely fashion. Some of you may know Rura from a few of his PSX game walkthroughs or as a fixture at a few sites you may frequent. Don't hesitate to contact Rura if you have some news (be sure to send it to John as well) or he makes a mistake.

MacMAME has been updated to 0.35 Final! This version fixes almost all of the known bugs from the 0.35 development cycle. (NeoMAME PPC has been updated as well.)

True Reality has been updated to version 1.1.3b2. This small revision fixes some lighting and texture issues.

Richard Bannister's ROM Info Bundle has been updated to version 1.2. This version is now available to unregistered users.

Bernie ][ the Rescue, an Apple IIgs emulator, has moved to a new domain, www.emulate.gs.




True Reality, a Nintendo 64 emulator, has been updated to version 1.1.3b1. This is an incredible update, because True Reality can now run several commercial games, including Super Mario 64 and Wave Race!

DGen has been updated to version 1.1.4a! This version supports TV mode, interlaced video, and save-RAM.

Virtual Gameboy has been updated to version 1.5.2. This version fixes some minor problems with InputSprocket.

iNES has been updated to version 1.0.2. This version fixes a bug with RAVE mode.

MacMAME has been updated to version 0.35rc2! This version fixes several bugs from earlier betas. (NeoMAME PPC has been updated as well.)

Catakig has been updated to version 1.1.5! This is a minor update that only seems to matter if you're using the Portuguese translation, though.

TO8/MacOS has been updated to version 0.7.1. This fixes some interface issues.

MacV9T9, a TI99 emulator, has been updated to version 0.2a1. This version supports speech synthesis and fixes bugs.
