A few users have reported that SNES9X will crash at startup if the computer is running in Mac OS 8/9 and does not have InputSprocket installed. Please make sure the latest GameSprockets are installed before using SNES9X. (The crash will be fixed in a future version, but it is still a very good idea to install the GameSprockets anyway.)





SNES9X, a Super Nintendo emulator, has been updated to version 1.3.9a. This version supports gamepads on Mac OS X and also includes some performance enhancements.





TGEmu, a PC Engine emulator, has been updated to version 0.2.0. The new release features significantly improved sound emulation. [news contributed by Richard Bannister]





The ROM Info Bundle, batch processing utilities for emulator software, has been updated to version 1.5. Individual utilities are available for the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Astrocade, Colecovision, Gameboy, GBA, Genesis, Jaguar, Lynx, MSX, N64, NES, Neo Geo Pocket, PC Engine, SMS, SNES, Virtual Boy, and Vectrex (whew!). X68000 Emulator PPC has been updated to version 0.00b21.

CPC++, an Amstrad CPC emulator, has been updated to version 2.0.0b2, and is now Carbonized for Mac OS X.





FlareStorm, a Playstation emulator for OS X, has been updated to version 1.1 alpha 1.

ViBE, a Nintendo Virtual Boy emulator, has been added to emulation.net. Released on April 1st, this is the first Virtual Boy emulator for the Macintosh. [news contributed by Gil Pedersen]
