emulation.net has returned! If you need a reason for the long delay between updates, just click here. (In addition to porting emulators and writing puzzle games, I am employed as a member of Blizzard Entertainment's Mac development team.)

Many Netscape users wrote in to let me know that the new font scheme on emulation.net was terrible, because it made the text on several pages small enough to be essentially illegible. I've tried to compensate for this by auto-detecting Netscape browsers and adjusting the font size accordingly. Unfortunately, there is no perfect solution for the font-size issue, but this should make the page look good for the majority of users. (Please note that some minor glitches may still be present when using Netscape; these appear to be unavoidable, as they are bugs in Netscape's HTML/CSS implementation.)

iNES, a Nintendo Entertainment System emulator, has been updated to version 1.2! This version features an excellent compatibility increase, particularly with DiskSystem titles. (Unfortunately, DiskSystem media is still emulated as read-only.)

Power64, a Commodore 64 emulator, has been updated to version 2.8! This version features several enhancements, including a slick new antialiasing technique that rivals RAVE mode in other emulators.

Power20, a VIC-20 emulator, has been updated to version 1.4.

A new ZX Spectrum emulator, ZXSP, has been released! In fact, this emulator claims to support every model of Sinclair computer.

Boycott/MacOS, a Gameboy emulator, has been updated to version 0.6.3a. This is the first version of Boycott to support sound! Although support is limited, it is a lot better than silence.

X68000 Emulator PPC has been updated to version 0.00b2.

MacMESS has been updated to version 0.37b4.

MacMAME has also been updated to version 0.37b4.

SMS+/MacOS, a Sega Master System emulator, has been updated to version 0.9.3.

Several readers noted that Connectix has a special offer for Virtual Game Station customers--each new copy of CVGS comes with a Playstation game bundled in! Unfortunately, the game you get is usually pretty cheesy, but it's better than nothing.
