After almost a year in court, Connectix has defeated Sony's attempts to halt the development and sale of Virtual Game Station! Connectix has posted a great press release, and MacNN also has an article that summarizes the outcome of the trial. Most importantly, Connectix reports that a Virtual Game Station 1.3 updater will be released in the next few weeks, and that a Windows version of the emulator will also be shipping soon.
In related news, online prices for Virtual Game Station are better than ever--for example, at the time of this writing, ValueAmerica's price is $13.71! Also, one reader reports that his CompUSA is selling Virtual Game Station for $29.99, with a $9.99 instant rebate and a $15 mail-in rebate, bringing the total price down to a mere $5.
Virtual Gameboy has been updated to version 1.6.1! This version includes an important fix which allows "patched" ROMs to work properly with Virtual Gameboy. For example, many Japanese ROMs which have been translated to English by fans refused to load with previous versions, but now work fine.
SNES9X has been updated to version 1.2.9! As usual, this update focuses on increased compatibility.
MacMAME has been updated to version 0.36b16.
Generator/MacOS, a Sega Genesis emulator, has been updated to version 0.12c. This version cleans up some minor bugs.

Mac1964, a Nintendo 64 emulator, has been updated to version 0.4.5! This version is up to 30% faster than before, and fixes numerous glitches from the previous version.

Hu6280, a PC Engine emulator, has been updated to version 1.8.9v4. According to the developer, this may be the last update to the Mac OS version of this PC Engine emulator.
Atomac is a new emulator for the Acorn Atom computer, a computer that debuted in 1979. The emulator requires a Power Macintosh and System 7.5 or later.
